Steve Raleigh,
guitarist/composer/educator, has taught and performed extensively in the
Tri-State area for the past 15 years and has shared the stage with such
notables as Nick Brignola, Lynn Seaton, Evelyn Blakey, and Larry Campbell
(The Bob Dylan Band). He has recorded several CD’s under his own name and
has been featured and reviewed in many publications including Guitar World
Magazine, Recording Magazine, Billboard, Rhythm & News, as well as many
regional newspapers. George Fletcher of the Poughkeepsie Journal
wrote “...Steve’s use of melodies and clean, classy rhythms ...is the
stuff of the big boys and just plain on the mark... fiery guitaring
...terrific..”
Charles Frommer, saxophonist for the Eastern Standard trio, began playing professionally while still in high school in his hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. He moved to Boston to attend New England Conservatory, where he studied with Ran Blake, Joe Allard and Douglas Buys, and continued his career in New York, doing freelance club, recording, and theatrical work involving a wide variety of musical styles.
Tom Charlap is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music where he studied with New York Philharmonic bassist Orin O’Brien. He has been a member of the Woody Herman orchestra and Dr. Billy Taylor’s Jazzmobile. Bassist Charlap recently played for both the Broadway production and subsequent national tour of Peter Pan, which was composed by his father, the late Moose Charlap.
